Dividend Income Update – February 2015

Its time for me to post dividend income earned from my portfolios: DRIP, HID1, HID2, & RothI enjoy sharing them as these passive dividend income provides me great inspiration and encouragement to keep chugging along and hopefully to the readers.

I scored close to double hundred in total passive dividend Income: $178.84 to be precise. This month alone, my dividend income was more than 9.06% compared to last year’s Nov and out of park as compared to last Feb, over 1000%. That’s awesome. It only shows the power of Dividend Income engine. I’m that much closer to being Financially Independent (FI) and living a life that I want to live, be independent and not have to rely on someone else. Isn’t that a powerful motivator!

I want to own securities of Blue chip Aristocrats (companies with 25+ yrs of growing earnings) and Dividend Champions. Once the earned passive dividend income covers all my expenses, I will own my time as well and truly free from 9 to 5 tread mill.

I’d setup a goal of earning $3500.00 in total passive dividend income for this year and have received total of $473.20, 13.52% of target. I’m hoping  my passive dividend income for next month would be blockbuster and cover some more ground to achieve target.

Full Disclosure: Long in all above mentioned securities.

How did your Dividend Income come along this month of Feb.

Thanks for reading.

  1. I’m in the same boat with relying on the third month of the quarter to gain some ground on where I “should” be in relation to my goals. With some more fresh capital and solid dividend increases, you should be in good shape to hit $3,500 this year.

    1. Hi W2R,

Looks like DGI’ers hit heavy in the 3rd month of the quarter 🙂

Goal of $3500 is appearing to be a challenging one, but, we will see.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Hi Dividend Hustler,

Appreciate the support and kind words. Yeah, my focus is my reality, so true 🙂 Once, I’m able to cover all my expenses, I’ll be on my way to the happy land of owning time.

    1. Hi ADD,

Yeah. I was almost ecstatic when I tallied this month’s passive dividend income, it was over 1000% and completely understand your feeling. Could not be more pleased, although, I’m starting out from a small base.

This shows the power of few years of dividend growth investing, a small amount grows to little bigger and that bring more. Before you realize, snowball starts rolling and I can see it for myself.

    1. Hi Dear Dividend,

Appreciate liking the companies in my 4 portfolios. I’ve worked hard last few years to build those portfolios from a small base. These companies can also provide a good starting point to build your portfolio as well. Good luck adding some of those jewels!

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Great looking progress across all your portfolios. As you mentioned your yoy growth is awesome and it just goes to show what income progress can be made with a dividend growth investment strategy. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi DH,

Absolutely. Could not agree more. Slow and steady is the name of the game. It takes some time to start seeing the benefits of DGI when dividends start rolling, and those dividends keep growing year-over-year. Its such a wonderful feeling when those checks start coming in the bank that we can enjoy and become financially independent!

My regret has been that I should have started much earlier, but, hey, its never too late 🙂

  3. PIM,

Whoa… you beat me by $6 this month! I like it and great job. Have to love monthly income from O and I just recently picked up some HCP earlier this month as well. Great job and we’ll see who has the better March! Joking, take care and keep at it.

    1. Hi Lanny,

Ha! It’s a healthy sign that two of us are making great progress, your dividend growth of 1400% was just phenomenal, even beat mine’s 😉

O is a great company and would love to add more but, it has run up a lot in last 1 yr and same goes for HCP.

    1. Hi DivGuy,

It was fantastic growth and I’m pleased with the Feb results. However, I’d setup an ambitious goal of $3500 this year and I need to cover lot of ground in coming months. We will see.

      Thanks for stopping by!
